Another Letterboxing Forum

From: Gwen & Don Jackson (foxsecurity@earthlink.net) | Date: 2003-10-31 08:19:00 UTC-08:00
I wrote "another letterboxing forum" off list. I was met with some sarcasm and a reluctance to properly discuss the subject of advertising one's product, i.e.. their chat list on the LBNA chat list, so even though I hesitate to write as the ' Flame War" may start, I do feel it necessary to make some comments. Since I may be told to "put a sock in it" I might as well make my comments public. I find it a little problematical when one is bold enough to utilize a LBNA logo patch on their own chat list then put a call out on the LBNA chat list to join. Why not create your web site with your own logo and if it is really good folks will find it and use it? The discussions at the site regarding getting more members have been generally centered on putting out the word on the LBNA chat list. You have 45 members and have had 14127 registered visits so obviously folks know about the site and have decided for what ever reason not to join. I have no attachment to the LBNA chat list other than just being another letterboxer ,and I like having other forums for letterboxers , I just think one should not try to compete in this manner. Now that being said I believe my comments will only draw some folks to the web site out of curiosity
Don.

HI Don

I'm sorry I offended anyone, I posted this as a hopefully friendly solution to a on going problem. My post was to let letterboxers know there are other letterboxing forum's out there and if your not happy with this one, seek another. I'm not even the webmaster of the questioned forum, just a member, like I'm a member of this one. I never gave the LBNA logo patch on the site any thought when I joined, I just enjoy letterboxing and hope to correspond with like people. As for writing me off list and meeting with some sarcasm and reluctance, you most have been corresponding with someone else. I was never written too and I would never reply to anyone in a sarcastic manner. I'm just a outdoorsman that truly loves nature and I treat everyone with respect and the dignity they deserve.

Happy Trails
